How to Make Friends

If you are in a new school, or you are in middle school and you and your friends got split up and are not in the same team/class/school, then here are 5 easy steps on  how you can make a few new friends, unless you are the shy one and keep to yourself most of the time :P

1. Smile at Everyone
The old 'Smile at Everyone' step. It's true! Flash those pretty teeth (if you don't have pretty teeth then I suggest that you might want to use baking soda to whiten your teeth or go to the dentist)! No one would like you to frown at them or make the evil eye at them. Be nice.

2. Ask to Sit at Their Lunch Table
Ask them if you can sit at their lunch table. They have friends, of course, so they will probably introduce you to their friends. That way you can have a few more friends instead of just being friends with that 1 person. And ask other people if you can sit at their lunch table and then you'll make even more friends. And make friends with somebody else who doesn't have a friend or who nobody talks to. And you aren't the only one that's ever felt this way.

3. Go to the Guidance Counselor
If you continue to do these things and still end up with no friends, go to the school guidance counselor. She/He might help you create some friends, and maybe you could even become friends with the guidance counselor (even though probably no one would do that, its a good suggestion for making atleast 1 friend).

4. Have a Great Attitude
Even though you are probably sad because you moved or the principal split you and your friends up, try to keep a healthy attitude, that way people can see your bright smile (pearly whites :) ), and your sunny attitude. Hold your head up high! Keep your back straight when you walk and not all slumpy. Keep little sticky notes in your locker and/or desk with motivations on them. EXAMPLE: smile at the cute boy in your class today :). That will keep you motivated to make friends.

5. Stand Up and Act
Do not be afraid. Go up to them and ask to be friends, if none of the above has worked for you. Don't be a shy guy! We all have to stand up sometime in our lives. This is your chance. And so what if they say "No"? There are many other people in your school then just that 1 person.
